Step 1: Preheat and Prepare Pan
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line with parchment paper.
Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients
In a large bowl, cream butter, oil, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla. Stir in mashed bananas and yogurt/milk.
Step 4: Combine and Fold
Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
Step 5: Bake
Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack.
Step 6: Frost (Optional)
For frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla; mix until creamy. Adjust consistency with milk. Spread over cooled cake.
