For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • ½ cup cornstarch or all-purpose flour

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for pan-frying) or cooking spray (for air-fryer)

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • ¼ cup sweet chili sauce

  • 23 tablespoons sriracha (adjust for heat)

  • 1 teaspoon honey or sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)

For Garnish:

  • 2 green onions, sliced

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)

  • Lime wedges (optional)

Instructions

📝 Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare Shrimp

  • Pat shrimp dry with paper towels.

  • Toss shrimp in cornstarch or flour until evenly coated.

Step 2: Cook Shrimp

  • Pan-Fry: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry shrimp 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.

  • Air-Fry: Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Spray shrimp lightly with cooking spray and cook 8–10 minutes, shaking halfway through.

Step 3: Make Bang Bang Sauce

  • In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey until smooth.

Step 4: Toss Shrimp in Sauce

  • Place cooked shrimp in a large bowl. Pour sauce over shrimp and toss until fully coated.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve

  • Sprinkle sliced green onions and sesame seeds on top. Serve immediately with lime wedges if desired.

Notes

  • Spice Level: Adjust sriracha to make the sauce milder or spicier.
  • Serving Ideas: Serve over rice, in tacos, or over pasta for a complete meal.
  • Make Ahead: Sauce can be made a day in advance. Cook shrimp just before serving for best crunch.
  • Air Fryer Option: Produces a lighter, crispier shrimp with less oil.
