Description

This indulgent dessert layers sweet berries with creamy cheesecake filling and a buttery cake topping. It’s rich, fruity, and unbelievably easy to make — perfect for holidays, potlucks, or a cozy weekend treat.

Ingredients

Scale

🛒 Ingredients:

  • 4 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries — fresh or frozen)

  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened

  • ½ cup sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 box yellow or white cake mix (15 oz)

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

  • Optional: extra berries or whipped cream for topping

Instructions

📝 Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. Prepare Cheesecake Layer: In a bowl, beat together cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.

  3. Assemble Layers:

    • Spread berries evenly over the bottom of the dish.

    • Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the berries (it doesn’t have to be perfect).

    • Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly on top — do not stir.

    • Drizzle melted butter evenly over the cake mix.

  4. Bake: Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the berries are bubbling around the edges.

  5. Cool & Serve: Cool slightly before serving. Serve warm or chilled with whipped cream or more fresh berries.

Notes

  • Frozen berries can be used without thawing; add 5 extra minutes to baking time.
  • For extra cheesecake flavor, add ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt to the cream cheese mixture.
  • Try different cake mixes (lemon, vanilla, or strawberry) for flavor variations.
  • Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days; tastes great cold or reheated.
