Base Layer
2 cans (21 oz each) cherry pie filling
1 cup vanilla or plain Greek yogurt
Optional: 1 teaspoon almond extract (boosts cherry flavor)
Cake Layer
1 box yellow cake mix (or white cake mix)
½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
Optional: ½ cup sweetened condensed milk for extra richness
Toppings (Optional)
½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Spread both cans of cherry pie filling evenly in the pan.
Dollop yogurt on top and gently swirl it through the cherries (no full mixing needed).
Add almond extract if using.
Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cherry-yogurt layer.
Do NOT stir.
Slowly drizzle melted butter across the entire surface.
Optionally drizzle sweetened condensed milk over the top for a creamy, cobbler-style finish.
Bake 40–50 minutes, or until the top is golden and the edges are bubbling.
Cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
