Step 1: Prepare Dough

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, cream butter with granulated and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips or chunks.
Step 2: Assemble Cookies
Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough, flatten slightly, and place a piece of chocolate in the center. Wrap dough around the chocolate, sealing completely to form a ball. Place on prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
Step 3: Bake Cookies
Bake for 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden but centers remain soft. Do not overbake to ensure a gooey chocolate center. Let cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
