Ingredients

Scale

🛒 Ingredients (makes ~20 truffles):

For the Truffles:

  • 200g dark chocolate (70% cocoa, gluten-free)

  • 100ml heavy cream or coconut cream for dairy-free version

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

  • Pinch of salt

For Coating / Decoration (optional):

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder

  • Chopped nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios)

  • Desiccated coconut

  • Melted dark chocolate for drizzle

Instructions

📝 Instructions:

Step 1: Melt Chocolate
Chop dark chocolate into small pieces. Place in a heatproof bowl.

Heat cream in a small saucepan until just simmering, then pour over chocolate. Let sit for 1–2 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy. Add vanilla extract and salt.

Step 2: Chill the Mixture
Cover the chocolate mixture and refrigerate for 1–2 hours, until firm enough to scoop.

Step 3: Shape the Truffles
Use a teaspoon or small cookie scoop to portion chocolate. Roll quickly between your palms to form smooth balls.

Step 4: Coat / Decorate
Roll truffles in cocoa powder, chopped nuts, or coconut, or drizzle with melted chocolate for an elegant finish.

Step 5: Store
Keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Bring to room temperature before serving for the perfect texture.

Notes

  • Dairy-Free Version: Use coconut cream instead of heavy cream for a luscious vegan alternative.

  • Quick Tip: Chill your hands or lightly dust with cocoa powder to prevent sticking while rolling.

  • Flavor Variations: Add orange zest, chili, or espresso powder to the ganache for a gourmet twist.

  • Make Ahead: Truffles can be made 3–4 days in advance and stored in the fridge.
