Instructions
📝 Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat & Prepare Pan
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
Step 2: Make the Crumb Topping
In a small bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cut in cold butter with a fork or pastry cutter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside.
Step 3: Make the Cake Batter
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
Gradually add the dry ingredients alternately with eggnog and sour cream, starting and ending with dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Step 4: Assemble & Bake
Spread batter evenly in prepared pan. Sprinkle crumb topping evenly over the batter.
Bake 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Step 5: Serve
Slice into squares or serve warm with a dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of glaze if desired.
