Ingredients

Scale

🛒 Ingredients (serves 4–6):

For the Beefaroni:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup tomato sauce or 2 tablespoons tomato paste + 1 cup water

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

  • ½ teaspoon paprika

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 2 cups uncooked pasta (elbow macaroni, penne, or similar)

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese (optional)

Optional Add-ins:

  • ½ cup diced bell peppers or mushrooms

  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper for heat

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

📝 Instructions:

Step 1: Cook Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2: Cook Beef
In a large skillet, heat olive oil (if using) over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic; sauté until fragrant and translucent. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.

Step 3: Add Sauce and Seasoning
Stir in tomato sauce or tomato paste mixture. Add oregano, basil, paprika, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally. If using vegetables, add them now and cook until tender.

Step 4: Combine Pasta and Beef Mixture
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir to combine. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese over the top and cover until melted.

Step 5: Serve
Scoop into bowls and garnish with fresh herbs or grated Parmesan if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • No Cheese Option: Simply skip the cheese and season with extra herbs or spices for flavor.
  • Without Tomato Sauce: Use tomato paste with water or broth, or try a light cream-based or roasted red pepper sauce for a twist.
  • Meal Prep: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
