Description

Savory spiral snacks made by rolling pizza toppings inside puff pastry or tortillas. Crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside, pizza wheels are perfect for parties, lunchboxes, or a fun snack. Customize with your favorite meats, vegetables, and sauces.

Ingredients

🛒 Ingredients (for about 12–15 pizza wheels):

For the Dough/Pastry:
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed (or 4 large tortillas)

For the Filling:
½ cup pizza sauce or marinara
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
½ cup sliced pepperoni or cooked sausage (optional)
½ cup finely chopped vegetables (bell peppers, mushrooms, onions)
1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste

For Brushing:
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash if using puff pastry)
1 tablespoon olive oil (if using tortillas)

Instructions

📝 Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Base
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
If using puff pastry, roll it slightly to smooth edges. If using tortillas, lay them flat.

Step 2: Assemble Pizza Wheels
Spread pizza sauce evenly over the pastry or tortilla, leaving a small border.
Sprinkle mozzarella, Parmesan, and your choice of toppings evenly. Season with oregano, salt, and pepper.

Step 3: Roll and Slice
Roll the puff pastry or tortilla tightly into a log. Slice into 1-inch spirals. Place cut-side up on the baking sheet.

Step 4: Brush and Bake
If using puff pastry, brush tops with beaten egg. For tortillas, lightly brush with olive oil.
Bake 12–15 minutes for tortillas or 20–25 minutes for puff pastry, until golden and crispy.

Step 5: Serve
Allow to cool slightly, then serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
