1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 large eggs

½ cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Topping:
1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
½ cup butter, melted
1 cup red velvet or chocolate cake crumbs (optional for extra texture)

Step 1: Prepare Cake Layer
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch pan.
Mix the cake mix, water, oil, and eggs according to package instructions. Pour half of the batter into the pan.
Step 2: Add Cream Cheese Lava Filling
In a small bowl, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Drop spoonfuls evenly over the cake batter.
Step 3: Add Remaining Batter & Topping
Spread the remaining cake batter gently over the cream cheese layer. Pour melted butter and sweetened condensed milk evenly on top. Sprinkle cake crumbs if using.
Step 4: Bake
Bake for 35–40 minutes until the edges are set but the center is gooey. Cool for 10 minutes before slicing to reveal lava effect.
Step 5: Serve & Decorate
Top with whipped cream, extra red velvet crumbs, or a drizzle of chocolate. Serve warm for the best molten lava effect.
Notes
Molten Center: Do not overbake; center should remain gooey.
