Step 2: Make the Custard

Step 3: Assemble the Casserole
Pour the custard evenly over the bread cubes.
Gently press down so the bread absorbs the liquid.
Sprinkle blueberries or chocolate chips on top if desired.
Step 4: Soak
Overnight Option: Cover and refrigerate for 8–12 hours.
Same-Day Option: Let soak for at least 20–30 minutes at room temperature.
Step 5: Bake
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes.
Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until golden and set.
Step 6: Serve
Let cool slightly, then drizzle with maple syrup or dust with powdered sugar.
