Instructions

📝 Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Cake
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.

Alternately mix in dry ingredients and milk until smooth. Divide batter evenly between pans and bake 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool completely.

Step 2: Prepare Strawberry Filling
In a bowl, mix sliced strawberries with sugar and lemon juice. Let sit for 10–15 minutes to macerate.

Step 3: Make Whipped Cream
In a chilled bowl, beat heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.

Step 4: Assemble the Cake
Level the cooled cake layers. Place the first layer on a serving plate, spread a layer of whipped cream, and top with macerated strawberries. Place the second cake layer on top and cover the cake with remaining whipped cream.

Step 5: Decorate
Top with whole or sliced strawberries. Add optional edible flowers, sprinkles, or a strawberry-themed cake topper.
