Instructions
📝 Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare Meringue
Preheat oven to 200°F (95°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, beat egg whites on medium speed until frothy.
Add cream of tartar (if using). Gradually add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while increasing speed to high until stiff, glossy peaks form.
Beat in vanilla extract and a few drops of green food coloring if desired.
Step 2: Pipe the Trees
Transfer meringue to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
Pipe mounds in a stacked tree shape: start with a small star at the top, then larger stars in concentric layers beneath.
Step 3: Bake
Bake at 200°F (95°C) for 1.5–2 hours, until the meringues are dry and crisp.
Turn off oven and leave meringues inside to cool completely for best texture.
Step 4: Decorate
Once cooled, add sprinkles, mini chocolate “ornaments,” or drizzle with melted chocolate.
Dust lightly with edible glitter for a snowy effect.
Notes
Stability Tip: Use room-temperature egg whites for better volume.
Mini Version: Pipe small 1–2 inch trees for bite-sized cookies.
