Ingredients

Scale

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4):

For the Wontons:

1 lb ground pork or ground chicken
2 green onions, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon white pepper
30–35 wonton wrappers
Small bowl of water (for sealing wrappers)

For the Broth:

6 cups chicken broth
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, sliced
1 clove garlic, smashed
½ teaspoon white pepper
1 cup baby bok choy or spinach (optional)
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

📝 Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Wonton Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork (or chicken), green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and white pepper. Mix until well combined.

Step 2: Assemble the Wontons

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface.
Add about 1 teaspoon of filling to the center.
Moisten the edges with water, fold into a triangle, and press to seal.
Bring the two bottom corners together and press gently to form the traditional wonton shape. Repeat with remaining wrappers.

Step 3: Prepare the Broth

In a large pot, bring chicken broth to a gentle simmer.
Add soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger slices, garlic, and white pepper.
Let simmer for about 5 minutes to develop flavor.

Step 4: Cook the Wontons

Carefully add the wontons to the simmering broth.
Cook for about 4–5 minutes, or until they float and the filling is cooked through.

Step 5: Add Vegetables & Serve

Add bok choy or spinach and cook for another minute.
Ladle soup into bowls and garnish with sliced green onions. Serve hot.
