Ingredients

Scale

2 3/4 cups butter, divided
6 large Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, peeled and sliced
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 cups brown sugar
1 cup pecans, finely chopped
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a 9-by-13-inch pan with parchment paper.
Beat 2 cups softened butter, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and 1/4 cup brown sugar until fluffy.
Add 2 1/2 cups flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Press dough into the pan and bake for 20 minutes until light golden brown.
In a bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and 1/2 cup brown sugar.
In a separate bowl, mix the remaining 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 cup brown sugar, chopped pecans, and 3/4 cup melted butter until crumbly.
Spread the apple mixture over the pre-baked crust.
Sprinkle the pecan crumble topping evenly over the apples.
Bake for 60 minutes or until apples are tender and the top is golden.

Notes

Ensure you measure flour using the scoop and level method for best results. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain crust crispness.
