Golden, crispy chicken wings glazed with a smoky-sweet BBQ glaze, achieved using baking powder for restaurant-style crispiness without frying. Adapted to exclude alcohol with a halal-friendly alternative.
Ingredients
0.25 cups non-alcoholic glaze enhancer (e.g., apple cider vinegar)
0.5 cups brown sugar
0.5 cups BBQ sauce
1.5 lbs chicken wings (flats/drumsticks or substitute thighs)
0.25 tsp salt
0.5 tsp black pepper
0.5 tsp smoked paprika (adjust to taste)
0.25 tsp garlic powder
0.25 tsp onion powder
0.5 tsp baking powder
Instructions
Prepare sauce by whisking non-alcoholic alternative with brown sugar and BBQ sauce.
Mix salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and baking powder. Coating chicken wings thoroughly.
Coat wings in the glaze mixture.
Spread on parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 400°F for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway.
Notes
For non-alcoholic compliance, omit or substitute Hennessy with apple cider vinegar.
Use a meat thermometer to ensure 165°F internal temperature.
Brush with extra BBQ sauce during last 5 minutes for glossy finish.
