Description
This caramelized, savory dish balances sweet and salty flavors in every bite. Tender chicken thighs are glazed in a sweet garlic sauce with a splash of Sriracha for a kick of heat. A fusion comfort dish that’s easy to prepare and reliably delicious.
Ingredients
6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or bone-in for extra flavor, adding 10–15 minutes to cook time)
1/2 cup brown sugar (use dark for a deeper flavor; substitute with 1/4 cup honey)
4 cloves garlic, minced (adjust to taste; add 1 tbsp grated ginger if desired)
1/4 cup soy sauce (gluten-free tamari for a dietary alternative)
1 tbsp Sriracha (can be omitted for a milder version; substitute with 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper)
1 cup chicken broth (use low-sodium for control)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C)
Pat chicken thighs dry with paper towels
In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, garlic, soy sauce, Sriracha, and chicken broth
Whisk over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes
Pour half of the sauce into a casserole dish
Arrange the chicken thighs in the dish
Top with the remaining sauce
Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is reduced and sticky
Notes
Adjust the chicken quantity based on your needs; this recipe is flexible and ideal for meal-prepping or hosting. Let the sauce form properly in the pan for best results. For dietary restrictions, use tamari and substitute garlic or ginger as needed.
