Instructions

Whisk water, milk, yeast, and 2 Tbsp sugar in mixer bowl
Let mixture rest 5–10 minutes until foamy
Beat in remaining sugar, butter, 1 cup flour, and salt
Scrape bowl, add another cup flour on medium speed
Finish with remaining flour until dough pulls away from bowl
Add additional flour 1 Tbsp at a time if dough remains unmanageable
Cover dough and let rise 1.5 hours or until doubled
Poke with finger—indention should slowly rebound
