Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar (divided: 1/2 cup for batter, 1/4 cup for filling)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup whole milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup sour cream
1 large egg
1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate medium bowl, combine 1/2 cup of sugar, milk, oil, sour cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined.
In a small bowl, mix the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar with the cinnamon.
Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan.
Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter.
Top with the remaining batter and use a knife to gently swirl the mixture.
Bake for 50-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Ensure all wet ingredients are at room temperature for the best emulsion. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For a crunchier top, you can add a sprinkle of coarse sugar before baking.
