Instructions
Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar on medium-high for 3 minutes
Add egg and vanilla extract; mix until fully incorporated
In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt
With a spatula, fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until combined
Stir in milk and chocolate chips until dough forms a soft but cohesive ball
Chill dough in refrigerator for at least 3 hours (or overnight for best results)
Scoop chilled dough (about 30g each) onto prepared baking sheet
Place baking sheet in freezer for 5 minutes to firm dough edges
Bake at 175°C (350°F) for 11–12 minutes until edges are set but centers still look slightly underbaked
Cool cookies on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks
