A tender, sweet Southern peach cobbler made with canned peaches, self-rising flour, sugar, and butter. Easy to assemble in under 10 minutes and baked to golden perfection in one hour. A crowd-pleasing dessert with minimal effort.
Ingredients
3 cans (15 oz each) sliced peaches
2 cups self-rising flour
1 ½ cups granulated sugar
2 sticks (16 tablespoons) unsalted butter
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
Grease a 9-inch square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray
Drain canned peaches, reserving ¼ cup canning liquid
Transfer peaches to prepared dish
In a bowl, combine flour, 1 ¼ cups sugar, and 12 tablespoons melted butter to form a crumbly streusel
crumble mixture over peaches
Drizzle remaining 4 tablespoons melted butter over top
Sprinkle remaining ¼ cup sugar evenly on top
Bake 1 hour until golden and bubbling
Cool for 10 minutes before serving
Notes
Substitute fresh peaches (4-5 large, sliced and lightly sprinkled with sugar) for canned
For gluten-free option, use gluten-free self-rising flour
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days
