Ingredients

All-purpose flour: 3 cups (approx. 360g)
Warm water: 1 cup (240ml), 105-115°F (40-46°C)
Active dry yeast: 2¼ teaspoons (one packet)
Granulated sugar: ¼ cup (50g)
Honey: ½ cup (170g), local preferred
Milk: ¼ cup (60ml), warm
Unsalted butter: 4 tablespoons (56g), melted
Salt: 1 teaspoon


Instructions

Combine the active dry yeast and a pinch of granulated sugar in a bowl. Pour in the warm water and let it sit for five minutes until it becomes foamy.
In a large mixing vessel, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center of this mixture.
Add the activated yeast mixture, honey, warm milk, and melted butter to the well. Stir until a shaggy mixture forms.
Turn the mixture onto a lightly floured surface. Knead it for 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl. Cover it and allow it to double in size for 1-1.5 hours in a warm, draft-free place.
Gently punch down the puffed dough. Shape it into a rectangle, then roll it tightly into a cylindrical form.
Transfer the shaped cylinder to a greased loaf pan. Cover it once more and let it expand for another 30-45 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven.
Bake for 30-35 minutes. The crust should be golden brown, and an internal temperature of 200°F (93°C) indicates readiness.
Remove the baked bread from the pan immediately. Let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
