Description

Create a professional-quality Italian-American classic in your own kitchen with this simple guide. This savory pastry features stretched pizza dough rolled tightly around layers of premium beef deli meats, sharp provolone, and creamy mozzarella cheese. Perfectly seasoned with garlic, herbs, and red pepper flakes, it results in a crispy golden crust and a satisfying, gooey center. It is an ideal, customizable meal for busy weeknights that the whole family will enjoy without the need for takeout.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb Pizza Dough
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Italian Seasoning
0.5 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
0.5 cup Parmesan Cheese, freshly grated
0.33 lb Turkey or Beef Ham
12 slices Mozzarella Cheese
0.33 lb Beef Pepperoni
12 slices Provolone Cheese
0.33 lb Beef Salami
1 tsp Dried Oregano

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F with a pizza stone or heavy baking sheet inside to ensure a hot surface.
Roll the pizza dough into a thin rectangle measuring approximately 18 inches by 12 inches on a lightly floured surface.
Brush the top of the dough with olive oil and sprinkle evenly with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and half of the parmesan.
Layer the turkey/beef ham slices across the dough like roof shingles.
Place the provolone, mozzarella, beef pepperoni, and beef salami over the ham layers.
Roll the dough tightly into a log, tucking in the ends to seal the filling inside.
Place the stromboli on the preheated baking sheet or stone.
Bake for 25 minutes or until the exterior is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

Ensure the dough is rolled thin to avoid a soggy bottom. Using a pizza stone provides the best results for a crispy crust. You can serve this with a side of warm marinara sauce for dipping.
