Description
A light and flavorful dip perfect for vegetables, crackers, or as a spread, utilizing the creamy texture and tangy taste of low-fat cream cheese.
Ingredients
8 oz (226g) low-fat cream cheese (Neufchâtel), softened
2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced (or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder)
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1–2 tablespoons milk (dairy or non-dairy) or water, for desired consistency (optional)
Instructions
In a medium bowl, add the softened low-fat cream cheese.
Add the chopped fresh chives, fresh parsley, minced garlic (or garlic powder), onion powder, and black pepper to the bowl.
Using a fork or a small whisk, thoroughly mix all the ingredients until well combined and smooth.
If the dip is too thick for your preference, add milk or water one tablespoon at a time, mixing until you reach the desired creamy consistency.
Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. You might want a pinch more salt if your cream cheese is unsalted.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Serve chilled with your favorite fresh vegetables, crackers, or as a spread on sandwiches.
