Description

Indulge in a sophisticated upgrade to a classic childhood snack. These gourmet Rice Krispie treats feature the deep, nutty essence of browned butter paired with an extra-generous amount of marshmallows for an ultra-gooey texture. Studded with chunks of crunchy Oreo cookies and finished with a delicate drizzle of white chocolate, these squares offer the perfect balance of crisp, chew, and chocolatey richness. Ideal for dessert tables or weekend treats, this recipe ensures a reliable, professional-quality result every time.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup Salted butter
21 oz Mini marshmallows (divided)
1 tbsp Pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp Sea salt
8 cups Rice Krispies cereal
20 Oreo cookies, roughly chopped
1/2 cup White chocolate chips

Instructions

Line a 9×13 inch pan with parchment paper and lightly mist with nonstick cooking spray.
Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat, stirring until it foams and turns a nutty brown color.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt.
Add the first 10.5 oz of marshmallows, stirring until partially melted.
Add the remaining 10.5 oz of marshmallows and stir until the mixture is completely smooth.
Fold in the Rice Krispies in 2-cup increments, ensuring even coating.
Gently fold in the chopped Oreo cookies.
Press the mixture into the prepared pan using a greased spatula, being careful not to pack it too tightly.
Allow to cool completely before cutting into 16 squares.
Melt white chocolate chips and drizzle decoratively over the top of the set treats.

Notes

For the best texture, ensure your Rice Krispies are fresh for maximum crunch. Brown the butter carefully to avoid burning, as it happens quickly once the milk solids turn golden brown. For easier cutting, refrigerate the pan for 20 minutes before slicing into 16 even squares.
