Description

This classic peach cobbler is the ultimate comfort food, featuring a golden, buttery crust paired with tender, syrup-soaked peaches. Developed to simplify the baking process while maximizing authentic flavor, this easy dump-and-bake method creates a perfect balance between a caramelized fruit foundation and a rustic, cinnamon-spiced cake topping. It is an ideal dessert for family gatherings, busy weeknights, or a warm Sunday treat, delivering consistent, professional-looking results without the hassle of traditional pastry work.

Ingredients

Scale

4 cups fresh peaches, peeled, cored, and sliced
1.75 cups granulated sugar, divided
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
0.5 teaspoon salt, divided
6 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
0.75 cup whole milk
ground cinnamon to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine the sliced peaches, 3/4 cup sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a medium saucepan.
Cook on medium heat for 5 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the peaches release their juices, then remove from heat.
Place the butter in a 9×13 inch baking dish and put it in the oven while it warms to melt.
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, remaining 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Stir in the milk until just combined to create the batter.
Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish without stirring.
Spoon the peach mixture over the batter layer.
Dust the top generously with cinnamon.
Bake for 40 minutes or until the cobbler is golden brown and bubbling.

Notes

You can substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free 1:1 baking blend. Ensure your baking powder is fresh to achieve the best lift in the cake layer. Serve warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream.
